This Week's Litique - Pure Bookvana

Now fans of Stephenie Meyer, P. C. Cast, and Melissa Marr have a new author to devour...

Zara collects phobias the way other high school girls collect lipstick. No wonder, since life's been pretty rough so far. Her father left a long time ago, her stepfather just passed away, and her mother's pretty much checked out. Now Zara's living with her grandmother in a cold, sleepy Maine town where the most exciting thing locals can count on is the occasional heat wave. Of course, Zara doesn't think she's in any real danger. She just thinks her mom can't deal.

That is, until she starts noticing someone out of the corner of her eye. Someone following her...at home...at school...everywhere. And, wherever she turns, she finds his trail  run amuck with neat, orderly piles of gold-kissed glitter. She knows he isn't a figment of her imagination. Even she couldn't dream up something this strange. But what is he? And why is he following her?

Apparently, he's a pixie - and not the cute, lovable kind with wings. He's the kind that  has dreadful, uncontrollable needs. The kind that wants Zara to somehow, some way, fulfill his deepest, darkest desires - whatever the cost.

Oozing with suspense, romance, and intrigue, this exciting breakout novel has all the undertones of the wildest of fairy tales - all the ones the Grimm Brothers got dead wrong.

So basically,  Zara is Bella with a backbone. And, so far, that's good enough for me.

P. S. - Here's a trailer for it from YouTube. Enjoy!

I'm Back! Finally.

Okay, so I know haven't been on in like...hmmm, let's see...a couple of months? Mostly because this has basically just turned into a blog for my eyes alone. But, whatever. You win some, you lose some. Or, as in my case, you don't win any. Sometimes life's funny like that.
Anyways...so a lot of stuff has happened to me since I last logged on. And, seeing as it's such a long list, I thought I'd try to make it as short and sweet as possible. Well, as sweet as any Before Breakfast blog can be. Which, hopefully, is sweet enough for y'all...well, me. So far. *hint, hint*
1. I'm currently failing not one, but two of my sophomore classes. And not just any classes. Drum roll, please. Art and Creative Writing. And you know what the absolute worst part is? Those are - supposedly - some of my best classes! Ah, the irony.
2. Apparently, some of the blogs I was following, such as Banners by Lyndsay,
cupcake witch, and Just Blinded Blog Makeovers, no longer exist. It just keeps getting better, doesn't it?
3. My bestie Z and I are trying to bridge the gap between lifelong friendship and potential romance. Rather unsuccessfully I might add. And yes, Z is a guy. Sorry, my fellow ladies. My door doesn't exactly swing that way. If you catch my rather obvious drift.
4. Apparently, God, the devil, my mother, and all the crazies inbetween saw fit to make my life miserable. Really, people? Really? Do you have nothing better to do? 'Cause I know I do.
5. My other BiFFle, Nik Whoa. Scratch that. We'll just call her...Sorry. Just waiting for some inspiration. Anytime now. Anytime. Ah, there we go. Verse. Short for Converse, in case you were wondering. Considering that her feet are having an epic Romeo and Juliet style love affair with them at the moment. I'm just sayin'. Well, let's just say that shoes aren't the only thing that Verse has fallen into wildly passionate lust, er, love with. Ahem.
6. Finally, to top it all off, the guy I've been pining after since God and Mary knows when is probably gay. Do all the cute ones have to be gay? Is it too much to ask to have one, just one be straight? Or bi. Or something. Is it?
Moral to this jilted story: Why me? Why does it always have to be me?
